What is the Saturday Morning Kids Show?
The Saturday Morning Kids Show is designed keep the minds of children on the Lord, and to keep 'family time' as long as possible. We provide 3 hours filled with 'good, clean, praise 'n fun', that includes Praise Club Workshop, Adventures In Odyssey, Paws N' Tales and Jungle Jam & Friends The Radio Show. We also do Birthday announcements, contests, and giveaways too!
The show broadcasts 7-10 AM Pacific time.
PRAISE CLUB WORKSHOP
The PRAISE CLUB WORKSHOP is three 1/2 hour programs filled with uplifting kids praise music, God's Word, and fun! You never know where you might find Woody Bear & K-Dave... if they are not taking your requests and playing your favorite praise tunes, they may be in an adventure in the old West, a flight through space, playing pirates, on a road trip, or counting down a Christian oldies radio show. Plus, Kidmercials….having fun with advertising, but delivering a REAL message. It's entertainment to glorify God, and to be enjoyed by the entire family.
The first Saturday of the month is usually devoted to prayer time. Prayer requests and praises are collected
(by telephone) during the first two hours of the show, then prayer time is during the top of the third hour. You're

PAWS & TALES
When the long-time Saturday Morning Kids Show staple, “The Puppet Factory” closed shop, a search went out for a suitable replacement. We heard about a new children's program being developed by Chuck Swindoll's ministry, “Insight For Living”. In this case, patience paid off; the new program rolled onto the line-up like clockwork. ADVENTURES IN ODYSSEY
Adventure should be a part of any kid show, and Focus On The Family's "Adventures In Odyssey", is a well-produced radio drama adventure. Sharing the lives of Whit, Connie and the gang provides a great adventure
each week.
JUNGLE JAM & FRIENDS THE RADIO SHOW
Jungle Jam & Friends The Radio Show began in September, 1993. It was a project of Wooly Mammoth Productions, a talented group of gentlemen that know how to teach God's principles in a humorous fashion. Jungle Jam fit the Saturday Morning Kids Show mission statement so well, it was immediately added to the line-up. Although it had great writing, voicing, and production values, it suffered financially; and on December 16, 1995, Jungle Jam stopped circulation. At that time, they went on to produce Little Dogs On The Prairie, and assist with other great Christian entertainment; and we began a search to find a replacement program that would be as enjoyable. That never happened. For the longest time, we just aired Jungle Jam in reruns; but now, under Fancy Monkey Studios, Jungle Jam is back in production; and new epsodes are being created as we speak. Jungle Jam & Friends - The Radio Show is a wild bunch of animals that actually get around to teaching Godly values.
History of The Saturday Morning Kids ShowThe Saturday Morning Kids Show is as old as K-Wave Radio! On April 15, 1985 when K-Wave began broadcasting "The Wave Of Living Water", and was dedicated, Pastor Chuck Smith declared that...
"…of course on Saturday mornings, we plan to change the format a little bit, and we're going to have a children's hour on Saturday morning; and the music will be more of the kids praise-type music…and some of the Colby programs, and it'll be exciting programming for the children on Saturday morning; and it'll give them a tremendous alternative to the violent cartoons that they are exposed to on TV and all of the occult, and all that kind of damaging stuff that plants such rotten stuff in the kids' minds. It'll give them a good alternative, that the children can sit and listen to radio and again they'll be blessed and edified. So we hope to have some great children's programming and draw the children in the listening audience on into the programming itself as we can announce their birthdays and things of this nature and just sort of form a club among the children on Saturday morning…"
...and with each new announcer that was scheduled to work on Saturday morning, a different dimension was brought to the kids show. This was in the mid-1980s, and half hour programs like "Adventures In Odyssey" were not being produced yet. Hosts such as Dave Patillo, Jeff Jones & Scooter, and Cathy White played music and programming from "Psalty, The Singing Songbook", "Colby the Computer", Antshillvannia", and similar albums that were available.
Then on September 13, 1994, K-Dave & Company took to the airwaves; adding another hour to the show, and making room for some special features like Bob Turnbull, The Bible News Network, Samson's Workout series, Woody's Poetry Corner, and others. It was also the debut of Jungle Jam and Friends the Radio Show.
On September 11, 1999, K-Dave & Company was re-formatted into a 'pre-recorded' program, given a fresh coat of paint, and became the Praise Club Workshop. Time proved that the pre-recorded format didn't work. So 6 months later, it reverted back to a live program.
2005, we started broadcasting the Saturday Morning Kids Show over the Calvary Chapel Radio Ministry, a satellite system that delivers programming to stations around the country.
